The preparations for the Ardh Kumbh Mela which will begin from January 2016 in Haridwar are in full bloom. This divine mega Hindu congregation is held every sixth year in full splendor at different sacred places all over the country.
According to an official the first prominent bath will be held on the auspicious day of Makar Sankranti on January 14, 2016. It is said that all the akhadas will take part in the Shahi Snan or the royal bath which will be followed by a series of baths on February 8 (Mauni Amavasya), February 12 (Basant Panchami), February 22 (Magh Purnima), March 8 (Mahashivratri), April 7 (Somvati Amavasya), April 15 (Ram Navmi), April 22 (Chaitra Poornima Snan) and May 6 (Krishna Paksh Amavasya).
According to the officials of Uttarakhand, the blueprint of the Kumbh preparations is ready. The Kumbh Mela campus has been divided into 30 sectors as it is expected that a millions of devotees are going to attend the event.
