As the days of commencement of Ardh Kumbh Mela are getting closer the mela administration has geared up for providing training to the special media force personnel for ensuring a peaceful Ardh Kumbh Mela this year. Only four months are left for the mass religious event to begin and the authorities are all set to give the training sessions. Today the first batch of 206 non gazette mela force personnel began their six-day training at Armed Training Centre.
The mela force personnel were taken to Har ki Pauri where they were given briefings about the core mela zone of Brahmakund and the adjacent Ganga ghats, entry and exit routes, local markets, temples and other strategic locations. Deputy Inspector General (Ardh Kumbh) GS Martolia stressed on crowd management, discipline and coordination with senior and mela force personnel.
Recalling the previous Maha Kumbh Mela, 2010 experience DIG stated, then mela force personnel did a great job and have set an example of high level of commitment and dedication for his duty. It was due to his note worthy efforts that around four crore pilgrims were managed easily in the Maha Kumbh Mela.
The DIG told that mela force personnel will be given specialized training in 18 phases and the first phase will begin today. He also added that, “Besides emphasis on crowd management, thwarting terror attack, traffic management impetus is also being given on intelligence collection-sharing, stampede, bomb explosion, fire incidents and effectively carrying out duty.”
